Dear Artists:
If you are a member in good standing with any IAPS member societies,
you may be eligible for a 2010 pastel scholarship to study with one
of five top nationally known artists. (To find out if your society
is an IAPS member,
check the
membership list
on the web site.)
The instructors for 2010 are:
Alan Flattman
Terri Ford

Kim Lordier
Maggie Price
Scholarship Awards: The scholarship amount is for the actual cost of
the workshop, up to $500.00. The scholarship money cannot be used by
the scholarship winner for travel, lodging or personal purchases of
art materials for the workshop.
How to Apply: Write a letter of request including your reason for
wanting the scholarship; what level you are in your art (beginner,
intermediate, advanced); how long you have been painting in pastel;
teachers you have studied with; your artistic goals, and any other
statement about yourself or your art you would like to include.
Include six images of your most recent work. They may be photos,
slides, or digital images on a CD. Include a SASE for the return of
your images. Applications will be juried by Urania Christy Tarbet.
Application Deadline: April 10, 2010 postmark. Send
your request to: Urania Christy Tarbet, P.O.
Box 567, Pollock Pines, CA 95726

Note: each winner will be assigned to an instructor on a random
basis. Each winner will be sent the workshop schedule of their
assigned instructor with information how to contact and sign up for
any of that instructor's scheduled workshops through 2010.
Immediately after the designated workshop is taken, the instructor
will contact Pat Suggs, IAPS Treasurer, and she will send a check
for the cost of the workshop directly to the instructor.
The IAPS/UCT Scholarships may not be used at any IAPS conventions.
THE 2010 IAPS/UCT SCHOLARSHIPS MUST BE USED BEFORE DECEMBER 31,
2010, OR THEY BECOME VOID.
PREVIOUS WINNERS OF IAPS/UCT SCHOLARSHIPS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE.
We hope artists will take advantage of this opportunity to apply for
the 2010 scholarships.
